Kayla and Cam’s Kunia Loa Ridge Farmlands wedding was one of those days where it felt like everyone was genuinely excited to be there. From the quieter moments they shared before the ceremony to a reception filled with laughter and dancing, there was an energy throughout the entire day that made it incredibly fun to photograph.
Kayla and Cam were both down to earth and sweet, but more than anything, they knew how to have fun. That feeling carried over into their family and friends and made the wedding feel less like a formal event and more like a celebration everyone was completely a part of.
Personal Vows Before the Ceremony
Before the ceremony began, Kayla and Cam met for their first look.
Instead of simply seeing each other and moving straight into portraits, they used that time to privately read their personal vows to one another.
There were tears, laughter, and a chance for them to slow everything down before the rest of the wedding began. It became one of the more intimate parts of the day because they were able to focus completely on each other before being surrounded by their family and friends.
Afterward, we moved into portraits around the property before everyone gathered for the ceremony.
A Kunia Loa Ridge Farmlands Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place outdoors at Kunia Loa Ridge Farmlands: Gardenville beneath clear skies.
What stood out most wasn’t necessarily one detail of the ceremony. It was how obvious Kayla and Cam’s love for one another was.
As Kayla began walking down the aisle, Cam couldn’t hold back his tears. Even after having their first look and sharing their vows privately, seeing her walk toward him surrounded by everyone they loved created an entirely different moment.
Those are the parts of a wedding day I always want to leave room for—the moments that happen naturally and don’t need much direction.
A Celebration Filled With Family and Hula
Once the ceremony ended, the energy shifted quickly into celebration.
The reception was lively from the beginning, with their friends and family laughing, dancing, and enjoying the night together. Hula was also part of the celebration, bringing another personal element into the reception and creating some of my favorite moments to photograph.
More than anything, everyone seemed completely present.
There wasn’t a feeling that people were simply attending a wedding. Their family and friends were genuinely celebrating alongside them.

Looking back at Kayla and Cam’s wedding, what I remember most is simply how much fun everyone was having.
The emotional moments were there—the private vows, the tears during the ceremony, and the quieter moments between Kayla and Cam—but they existed alongside so much laughter and excitement.
That’s what made the day feel like them.
A beautiful setting can give you incredible photographs, but it’s the people and everything happening between them that ultimately gives those photographs meaning.
