After getting ready, we shot bridal portraits at the Four Seasons. Then Sarah slipped into a limo for the ride to the ceremony site. The couple skipped a first look, so the real first look happened the classic way: Mike watched Sarah walk toward him down the aisle.
The Ceremony: A Beer Made From Scratch
Sugar Beach Events in Kihei hosted the ceremony under a clear, sunny Maui sky. That kind of bright, cloudless afternoon makes every color in a photo pop.
Sarah and Mike’s relationship started at a brewery, so their ceremony needed to reflect that. Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea hosted a reception that matched the couple’s “big celebration” vision from day one. Guests could take photos with parrots. The Moments That Stuck
Out of thousands of frames, two keep pulling me back.
The first shows Mike holding Sarah in the middle of the aisle, mid-kiss, as a flower toss explodes around them. It’s pure, unfiltered celebration, frozen in motion.
The second is quieter: a black-and-white portrait of Sarah getting ready, looking off to the side. I can’t fully explain why it’s the one that stays with me. Sometimes a photograph just holds something you can’t quite name.
